The Salmond College - Wilson Family Trust Scholarship is a gift in memory of Miss Helen Wilson (1909 - 2001) and Miss Gwenda Wilson (1912 - 1995), the first and third daughters of John Wilson OBE, a mayor of Dunedin, and Louisa Smith of St Clair, Dunedin.

Helen and Gwenda, two sisters, lived together and contributed generously with their time and talents to the city which they greatly loved. Educated at Otago Girls' High School, they valued accomplishment and civic responsibility.  Active in the Presbyterian Church, they were involved in the fundraising and furnishing of Salmond College when it was first established.

The Wilson Family Trust Scholarship is a fitting way to honour the vision and values these two women shared
