This position will give you invaluable experience in pastoral care and leadership, and is a great opportunity for personal development. Many residents who have excelled during their time as a resident have taken the opportunity to return as an RL to give back to the College.
It involves working up 20 hours a week (40 hours a fortnight) and being part of a dynamic team.
You will not be expected to be a mental health expert, counsellor or therapist, but you will be expected to be highly motivated and have an exellent work ethic. You will exhibit basic pastoral and leadership skills, to show that you care, and to know when to call for support or refer to others with greater expertise and experience than your own. You will receive training early in the year, and you will be supported in your role by senior staff.
