Salmond has been home to Otago students since 1971, set on landscaped grounds on the edge of the Botanic Gardens.

Every 'Mond resident gets a single room - centrally heated, double-glazed, with everything you need inside. Step outside it and you've got kitchenettes on every floor, tutorial rooms and a library, a common room opening onto the garden, and 260 other residents who soon start to feel like family.

Walk to campus through the Botanic Gardens
Most days, getting to class means a stroll through the Botanic Gardens - down through the trees, past the duck pond, and out the other side onto campus in about 15 minutes. Running late or heading home after a night class? The free evening shuttle picks up the slack.

Getting to campus
Most days, getting to class means a 15-minute stroll through the Botanic Gardens - or a quick five-minute cycle if you'd rather bike. A free shuttle runs on weekday mornings and evenings, and city buses stop nearby throughout the day. Driving in? We have 30 student parking spaces available for purchase, plus a secure bike shed.
